Product Overview: The Industrial Workhorse
LS screw trough conveyor is a type of mechanical conveyor system that is used to transport materials from one point to another. LS screw trough conveyor is composed of a rotating helical screw blade, also known as an auger, that is enclosed within a tube or trough. The auger is driven by an electric motor, which rotates the auger and moves the material along the trough.
"LS" stands for the industrial standard model. This is distinct from light-duty U-conveyors. It is built for Mining, Cement Plants, and Power Stations.
- Long Distance: While standard screws are 3-6m, the LS series can be linked up to 30m - 60m.
- Head & Tail Bearings: The bearings are mounted outside the trough to isolate them from dust and heat.
Critical Component: Intermediate Hanger Bearings
To span long distances, the screw shaft is segmented (usually 3m per section). They are supported by Hanger Bearings inside the trough.
- Bearing Selection (Expertise):
- Rolling Bearing (M1): For non-abrasive material (Grain, Lime). Needs grease.
- Sliding Bearing (M2): Made of Copper or Babbitt alloy. Good for wear resistance.
- Self-Lubricating (M3): Made of specialized synthetic material. For abrasive dust like cement or coal ash where grease attracts grit.

Drive Arrangements (C1 vs C2)
- C1 Method: Motor connects via Coupling. High reliability, less maintenance.
- C2 Method: Motor connects via Chain/Sprocket. Allows speed adjustment by changing sprocket ratio. Compact layout.

Q: How to maintain the hanger bearings?
A: This is the most critical maintenance point. Some hanger bearings have external grease pipes-pump grease weekly. For self-lubricating types, inspect wear every 6 months.
