Maintenance and daily use of Drum Motors

Oct 16, 2023

1, Before each start-up, the surrounding environment, fastening bolts, oil seepage and the integrity of the cable should be routinely checked to create conditions for normal operation.

2,The new drum should be started with a point start and gradually turned into normal. After 10 minutes of operation check the vibration, noise and temperature rise of the running parts of the machine.

3,If oil leakage occurs on the drum motor, pay attention to two parts: Firstly, the oil seal, whether it is worn or deformed. Wear can be tightened by tightening the spring ring of the oil seal lip, and the leakage can be solved for oil seals with a small amount of wear. If it is not effective or has become deformed, the skeleton oil seal should be replaced in time; secondly, the air outlet channel should not be blocked and the silent dust, oil and debris should be removed as soon as possible to ensure that the channel is clear.

4,The backstop used for the high-speed shaft of an external roller is generally cooled and lubricated by the cooling lubricant inside the barrel through the internal channel set up to flow to the backstop, some rollers are equipped with a pressure injection oil cup at the top of the backstop to prevent insufficient oil supply. The backstop should be able to play a backstop role, otherwise the backstop is considered to be damaged.

5,Regularly checking the oil level in the drum is an important part of daily maintenance. A specified oil level is one of the conditions for the normal operation of the drum and can be checked in accordance with the methods described in the operating instructions.
