Product Overview: The Industrial Workhorse
The Y-Series (and its upgraded Y2/YE3 versions) is the standard drive unit for 90% of mechanical equipment. It converts electrical energy into mechanical power to drive gearboxes, pumps, and conveyor belts.
Why Choose Kunwei Motors? Many low-cost motors on the market use "Copper-Clad Aluminum" wire to cut costs. These overheat easily. We use 100% Oxygen-Free Copper Wire. This ensures lower temperature rise, higher efficiency, and a lifespan that is 2-3 times longer than inferior motors.

Key Features
- Protection Class: Standard IP54 or IP55. This means the motor is protected against harmful dust deposits and low-pressure water jets-essential for dusty mining or cement plant environments.
- Cooling Method: IC411 (TEFC). It has an external fan mounted on the shaft that blows air over the ribbed cast iron casing to dissipate heat efficiently.
- Housing: High-grade Cast Iron frame. Unlike light aluminum housings, cast iron dampens vibration and withstands accidental impact.

Mounting Options (How to choose?)
When ordering a replacement motor, checking the mounting type is critical:
B3 (Foot Mounted): The motor has feet on the bottom. It sits on a base plate. (Most common for conveyors connecting to a coupling).
B5 (Flange Mounted): The motor has a large flange on the face. No feet. It bolts directly to a gearbox.
B35 (Foot + Flange): Has both feet and a flange.
Technical Specifications
- Voltage: 380V / 400V / 415V / 440V (50Hz or 60Hz).
- Insulation Class: Class F (can withstand internal temps up to 155°C).
- Speed (Poles):
- 2-Pole: ~3000 RPM (For pumps/fans).
- 4-Pole: ~1500 RPM (Standard for conveyors).
- 6-Pole: ~1000 RPM (High torque, for crushers).
- 8-Pole: ~750 RPM (Slow speed).
Installation & Maintenance
- Alignment: If connecting via a coupling, laser alignment is crucial. Misalignment destroys the motor bearings.
- Greasing: Small motors (under 11kW) usually have sealed bearings. Larger motors have grease nipples-add lithium grease every 2000 hours.
- Ventilation: Never cover the fan cowl. The motor needs to "breathe" to stay cool.
FAQ
Q: What is the difference between Y, Y2, and YE3 series?
A: They have the same mounting dimensions (IEC standard). The difference is efficiency.
- Y Series: Older standard (Standard Efficiency).
- YE3 Series: Premium Efficiency (Saves electricity costs in the long run). We recommend YE3 for new projects.
Q: Can you customize the voltage for my country?
A: Yes. We can wind the motor for 220V/60Hz (Philippines/South America) or 415V/50Hz (Africa/Australia) upon request.
