Product Overview: Why Choose a "Shafted" Conveyor?
The LS300 (With Shaft) is the industry standard for bulk material handling. It consists of a screw flight welded onto a seamless steel pipe (the shaft).
- Shafted vs. Shaftless: Which do you need?
- Choose "With Shaft" (This Model): If you are handling dry, loose materials like cement powder, dry sand, wheat, or fly ash. The central shaft makes the screw rigid, allowing it to run at high speeds (60-90 RPM) for maximum efficiency.
- Choose "Shaftless": If you are handling sticky, wet, or fibrous materials like dewatered sludge or wood chips. Sticky material will cling to a central shaft and block the flow.
Key Features of LS300 Shafted Design
- Rigidity: The central pipe (Shaft) prevents the screw from bending or "whipping" under heavy loads. This allows us to build longer units (up to 30m) compared to shaftless types.
- Intermediate Support: Equipped with Hanger Bearings every 2-3 meters. These bearings hold the shaft in place, ensuring the screw flight doesn't rub against the U-trough casing.
- Cost-Effective: Shafted conveyors are generally more affordable and have a higher throughput capacity per RPM than shaftless versions.

Critical Maintenance: The Hanger Bearing
Since this is a "Shafted" conveyor, it uses intermediate Hanger Bearings inside the material flow. This is the most critical wear part.
- For Clean Dust: We use Rolling Bearings (Needs grease).
- For Abrasive Dust: We use Copper or Alloy Sliding Bearings (Self-lubricating).
- Tip: If you hear a squeaking noise from the middle of the trough, check the hanger bearing immediately.
FAQ
Q: Can I use this for wet sludge?
A: No. Wet sludge will stick to the central shaft and build up until the trough is blocked. Please use our Shaftless Screw Conveyor for sludge.
Q: What is the max particle size for LS300?
A: For this shafted model, the max recommended lump size is 30mm. Larger rocks can get jammed in the gap between the flight and the hanger bearing.
