Common faults and solutions during the operation of belt conveyors

Oct 25, 2024

During the operation of the belt conveyor,  Belt deviation is one of  the common faults. Why does this happen and how to solve it?

1. Reasons and solutions for belt deviation in the middle section during operation.

The reasons for the deviation of the belt in the middle section during operation are:

A.  The center position of the roller is incorrect.

B.  Not aligned with the center of the belt during loading The belt joint is not aligned.

C. The fuselage frame is deformed.

The solutions are:

A. Adjust the roller to the centerline.

B. Adjust the loading equipment.

C. Reconnect the belt joint.

D. Correct the body frame.

2.  Reasons and solutions for belt deviation to one side at the head pulley during operation.

The reasons for the deviation of the belt on the head pulley side during operation are:

A. The travel of the belt adjustment device is adjusted differently.

B. There is mud and sand stuck on one side of the head pulley.

C. The head pulley bolt is loose.

D. One end of the bearing is worn.

E. The two bearing seats of the drum are not on the same plane,or inconsistent before and after.

F. The transmission shaft moves in series on one side.

The solutions are:

A.  Adjust the position of the head pulley again.

B. Scrape away the mud and sand.
C. Tighten the bolts, identify the cause of looseness and handle it accordingly.

D. Replace the bearing with a new one.

E. Adjust the roller bearing seat again.

F. Correct and adjust the balance of the transmission shaft.

3. Reasons and solutions for left and right deviation of belt during operation

The deviation of the belt during operation is mainly due to severe wear in the middle of the transmission roller, which is smaller than the diameter at both ends. The solution is to replace the drum.
